In the first podcast of this series, I described the three layers in the architecture, in the second, the relationship to IT4IT. Now it’s time to dig a little deeper in the architecture and describe the actual functionalities at each layer. Let’s start with the Strategy to Portfolio functions. The demand layer contains the interaction with both the business and the partners and defines what IT will do from a policy and a services perspective. The delivery layer takes care of whether the new service can be made available and how it fits in the overall service portfolio, while the supply layer manages the interactions with the partners.
Listen to my detailed description of the layers and how they are interacting.
In the next section, we will look at how a requirement initiates the creation of a service.
